Hiding a folder using WinRAR

One of the things that all of us want is privacy. Be it on our computers, mobiles, social media or just whatever and wherever. But just like me, do you have a snooping brother/sister who always end up opening your rather personal folders. Well it happens all the time but what to do? How to make sure they can not open those folders where you store the 'not to be opened' kind of files? Well if you are looking to stop your friends from snooping around without having to use any softwares or advanced hacking tools other than the basic tools you have on your computer, you've just come to the right place because today we'll show you how to make a folder completely unopenable by using winRAR.

Before we start, just a quick note that this will work on all computers from windows 98 to windows 8.

So, let the Hiding begin!

Let's suppose that the folder you want to hide is named

Images

Right click on the 'Images' folder and select 'Add to archive...' option from the dropdown menu.
Just click on 'OK' straightaway.
You'll get a file named

Images.rar

Now delete the original 'Images' folder.
Right click on the 'Images.rar' folder and select 'rename' option.
Just rename the file and remove the '.rar' from its  name.
Your new Images file will not open now however much your friends may try.

How to re-open the folder?

Oops. That I don't know ;) (Just joking)

Rename the Images file again and add '.rar' to the name and voila! Your images folder will open in winRAR.

How to Download and install an apk.

1. First thing that you will have to do is find a place where you can download apk from. To make that easier, you will find apk to download on this website itself.
2. Now download the apk on your computer.
Let's work with an example. I will show you how you can download and install Inotia 4: assasin of berkel from this website.
Go to, http://iwindroids.blogspot.in/2012/06/inotia-4-assasin-of-berkel-for-all.html
At the bottom of the page, there is the download link. Download the apk to your computer.

Now you just need to put this apk anywhere in your mobile's storage.

Once you have it on the mobile, Just tap on it once to open it from the File Manager or My Files on your android.

Install ADB without Installing SDK

The android SDK is a great tool for all of the android developers, looking to do something unique or old school. But if you are just a normal user having no utility of the SDK and only want to use the ADB (android debugging bridge) then downloading the complete SDK tools package is simply not something you would like to waste time with. But fortunately, you can install the fastboot and ADB without having to download the complete SDK package. All you have to do is download the zip file from the link below and extract it to your PC, anywhere where it is easy for you to locate and execute. The root of your Windows directory will be the best place to do it. You may place it wherever you like. It'll work from wherever it is placed.

Want to check if adb is running? Just type adb in the command prompt and it will show you all the commands which can be entered using adb. If you have problems, it could be because of improper driver installation. So make sure you have installed all the drivers for your mobile before trying to connect via adb.

Resetting Pattern Lock on Android

Hello everyone.
I receive a lot of "I forgot my pattern lock. How to reset it?" requests. So I'll try to help you guys out. First  of all, please don't enter pattern locks if you cant remember them. Use PIN locks instead. And just so you get out of problems every time, keep "USB debugging" ticked ALWAYS on your android. Because by keeping USB debugging on, you allow yourself more power on your phone because you can then use your laptop or computer to do almost anything on your android by connecting it to the PC via your USB cable and using the ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to control it. Many people often think using adb is a complex process and that it involves rooting or stuff. No. ADB is universal and it's easy to use too.We will use the ADB to unlock our locked phone in this tutorial. Let the unlocking begin.

Steps to follow:

1. Connect your android device to the computer using the USB cable. Make sure you have the drivers installed on your computer. If it says "Device not connected", Download and install the drivers on your computer.
2. Download ADB. [unfortunately, ever since adb has been moved, getting it means downloading a complete 200mb archive which is the android SDK, but i'll upload an archive with only the ADB exe in it.] For now use this link:

Now you'll just have to extract this downloaded .zip file. extract to any drive. but i recommend you do it to your windows drive.

3. Run adb. You can do this in different ways.
4. Use this method:
Launch the command prompt, (click start > all programs > accesories > Command prompt OR just press the windows button on keyboard with R, Windows+R that is, and in the run box, type cmd, press enter.
5. In the command prompt window, type

adb devices

6. It will show this message:

* daemon not running. starting it on port xxxx*
*daemon started succesfully*

7. If your android device is connected properly, it will show it in the list. That means everything's fine.
8. Now type this command in the command prompt:

adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key

9.After this type

adb reboot

10. Your android will reboot, don't unplug it from the computer. When it'll be restarted, enter any pattern and the device will get unlocked.

Rainmeter [Desktop Customization] [Step 3]

Once you've installed Rainmeter on your computer, the next and effectively the last thing to do is to get some themes for it. In Rainmeter language these 'themes' are called 'rmskin packages'.
You can do this in two ways:
1. Get adventurous and start exploring the web for these rmskins or
2. Get smart and follow this easy method where i'll tell you what rmskkins to install.

So let's begin with method 2.
Start your rainmeter by launching it from the Notification area. The main screen looks like this:

On the Left side are all the skins that you install.
To install a theme, just simply download the '.rmskin package' and install it by double clicking on it. Let's try to install the 'SimplyNova V2' Theme by Nova. Download The rmskin package from here:
