The Last of Us is a survival horror action-adventure game that takes the gamer deep into enemy territory. This game is developed for the PlayStation 3 by Naughty Dog Software and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The Last of Us has a Pegi rating of 18 while ESRB has rated the game M for Mature 17+. This realistic game may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content or strong language.
Synopsis and Features
The Last of Us starts 20 years after the world has been ravaged by a cordyceps-type fungus that almost destroys the human race. People who are infected by the fungus have no control of themselves and turn into mindless fungus spreaders. Most survivors are protected in quarantined zones under control of the United States military. Regular screening for infected people and martial law are established in these zones. We play Joel, a seasoned and street-smart black-marketeer who has to fulfill a promise made to an old friend. He promises his friend that he will smuggle Ellie, a fourteen year old girl, away from the oppressive, brutal and harsh regime to safety with a resistance group known as the Fireflies.
Joel and Ellie begin their journey across the harsh terrain of a post-apocalyptic United States where nature has gradually spread through the towns and cities. Apart from the perils of nature's fury, they also have to deal with the infected humanoid creatures who attack survivors in order to spread the infection. Scavengers are also a threat as they see this duo as fresh prey to rob for food and weapons. Meanwhile, the military launches a campaign to bring Ellie back at any cost.
Joel is the only character we control, while Ellie is controlled by the artificial intelligence. Joel has been through a lot and is a brutal survivor while Ellie shows maturity beyond her age for a child dealing with a post-apocalyptic scenario. Conserve bullets as if you shoot at enemies recklessly you will soon run out of ammunition. Melee combat situations have also been improved to look and feel realistic as you perform your attacking moves. Naughty Dog Software has incorporated the new AI system called the Balance of Power which makes the AI behave realistically and react to their surroundings. The Dynamic Stealth feature allows you to employ different approaches to new situations you come across.
Naughty dog have proved that they are the best studio in the gaming industry,by yet again delivering a game that exceeds beyond all the expectations!This game sets the bar for every other AAA title very high.
