Naughty Dog brings you 'The Last of Us' which is an upcoming title exclusively for the PlayStation 3 console. This edition of the game is the basic version which does not contain the mini art book, comic, exclusive game pack, poster and PS3 controller's skin that the Ellie and Joel Edition have. This exciting single-player and multiplayer game is designed to entertain action and adventure seekers.
The Last of Us is a survival horror action-adventure game that takes the gamer deep into enemy territory. This game is developed for the PlayStation 3 by Naughty Dog Software and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The Last of Us has a Pegi rating of 18 while ESRB has rated the game M for Mature 17+. This realistic game may contain intense violence, blood and gore, sexual content or strong language.
Synopsis and Features
The Last of Us starts 20 years after the world has been ravaged by a cordyceps-type fungus that almost destroys the human race. People who are infected by the fungus have no control of themselves and turn into mindless fungus spreaders. Most survivors are protected in quarantined zones under control of the United States military. Regular screening for infected people and martial law are established in these zones. We play Joel, a seasoned and street-smart black-marketeer who has to fulfill a promise made to an old friend. He promises his friend that he will smuggle Ellie, a fourteen year old girl, away from the oppressive, brutal and harsh regime to safety with a resistance group known as the Fireflies.
Joel and Ellie begin their journey across the harsh terrain of a post-apocalyptic United States where nature has gradually spread through the towns and cities. Apart from the perils of nature's fury, they also have to deal with the infected humanoid creatures who attack survivors in order to spread the infection. Scavengers are also a threat as they see this duo as fresh prey to rob for food and weapons. Meanwhile, the military launches a campaign to bring Ellie back at any cost.
Joel is the only character we control, while Ellie is controlled by the artificial intelligence. Joel has been through a lot and is a brutal survivor while Ellie shows maturity beyond her age for a child dealing with a post-apocalyptic scenario. Conserve bullets as if you shoot at enemies recklessly you will soon run out of ammunition. Melee combat situations have also been improved to look and feel realistic as you perform your attacking moves. Naughty Dog Software has incorporated the new AI system called the Balance of Power which makes the AI behave realistically and react to their surroundings. The Dynamic Stealth feature allows you to employ different approaches to new situations you come across.
Naughty dog have proved that they are the best studio in the gaming industry,by yet again delivering a game that exceeds beyond all the expectations!This game sets the bar for every other AAA title very high.
GAME PLAY:
The game play is a mixture of many genres, you can play it as a stealth game without any shooting, or just play like a third person shooter.Along with that sometimes it plays out like a perfect survival horror game and
is really scary!And on the higher difficulties one needs to have some very good strategy to get through some situations,it allows the player to make numerous different strategies which one can come up with,so there's a great variety by which one can play the same level.And there are some levels which really tests your nerves and quick thinking.The AI of the enemy and your partner is excellent,unlike any other game out now.
STORY:
Well I did not find the story jaw-dropping,there are games with better stories but still its story makes a very deep connection with the players , you would feel a special bond even with the supporting characters.And yes the story evokes emotion very nicely.
The characters are very well written; not just forced into the story.Though major part of the story is quite dark and emotional,the lighter parts are handled perfectly.
GRAPHICS:
Undoubtedly its the best looking game because most of the time it feels like a next -gen title! Its a treat for the eyes,the environments are extremely beautiful and are very highly detailed,nothing in the environment would feel like they have been put there just for filling up the space,it always feels lively because of the extremely high details,one can just go about hours just looking at all the details.

SPECIAL MENTION:
The game has some great music to go along with the story, it will pull you into its world.The voice acting is top notch,Troy Baker is at his best and you will never feel that Ellie's voiced by an adult(Ashley Johnson).The sound effects are also nicely done that,sometimes they can scare the hell out of you!
THE ADVICE:
This is one of those games for which buying a Playstation 3 feels worth the bucks, so if you already have one then get this game as soon as you can. And do not rush through the game for the sake of the story, take your time and explore each part of the environment to completely experience this game.
